How to Check Kuwait Civil ID Status

The Civil ID is the main identity card for residents of Kuwait. It is issued by the Public Authority for Civil Information (PACI). After a new residence or renewal, you can check whether your card is ready for collection.

PACI website

The PACI website (paci.gov.kw) provides a Civil ID status inquiry. Enter your Civil ID number to see whether the card has been issued and where it can be collected.

Sahel app

Sahel is Kuwait's official unified government e-services app. After registering with your Civil ID, you can access many services from different ministries, receive notifications and use your digital identity through the Kuwait Mobile ID app.

Residence validity

Your residence (iqama) is linked to your passport and Civil ID. The Ministry of Interior manages residency; your employer normally handles renewal. Ask HR if your residence is close to expiry.

Tips

• Update your address with PACI when you move; an incorrect address can cause problems with services.
• Use only official apps and websites ending in .gov.kw.
• Keep a photo of your Civil ID and passport in a secure place.
